Geologic Processes

Our First Semester is titled, Educated Earthlings!

Starting our school year with
a phenomenal Partial Solar Eclipse, we were introduced to our place in space.
We have concluded our first Unit on Earth Science: Geologic Processes.

Your notebook should reflect our investigations from the
Stream Tables and How the Grand Canyon Formed

Our studies ranged from the Rock Cycle and the Theory of Plate Tectonics.
Make sure you can discuss these key pieces of evidence...

Our next unit will examine the changes in Life Through Time...

Forces and Motion

For the last two weeks, we've been exploring the motion of objects and the ways we can describe and graph motion. This week marks a change into exploring why objects move and examining some of the patterns in their motion.

As you watch the video, notice what factors make an unsuccessful  exit and look for any differences in a successful exit.

Chemistry of Life

We have concluded our Introduction to Chemistry, including atomic structure, the Periodic Table of Elements, and Chemical Reactions. We are now beginning our unit on Organic Chemistry with modeling carbon is a variety of molecules.
Next, we will look at the polymers of life and nutrition!

Thinking Like a Scientist!

This week we have been introduced to some of the skills that scientists use:
 making observations and inferences!
We have taken our Safety Quiz and will be ready for more exciting investigations next week!
